The Communauté de communes Cœur de France has made the fight against vacant homes a key priority of its housing policy, in order to encourage the renovation and re-marketing of quality homes.
The housing observatory
With responsibility for housing, Cœur de France approved its PLUi-H on 30 June 2021, in which the Programme d'Orientations et d'Actions (POA) provides for the creation of the Observatoire de l'Habitat, in order to better understand and anticipate housing needs.
This tool enables you to monitor market trends (vacancies, housing production, consumption of space, etc.), be a decision-making tool for elected representatives and also helps strengthen collaboration with local players over time (landlords, developers, notaries, banks and government departments) to work together on the housing projects of the future.
This observatory enables an in-depth study of the housing vacancy situation in the area, so that action can be taken to reduce the problem.
Combating housing vacancy
Tackling the problem of vacant homes means offering a new way of living, breathing new life into an area and improving the quality of life for everyone.
Why combat vacancy?
Renovating and reusing vacant homes helps to limit urban sprawl, preserve our resources and is part of a drive to limit the artificial use of our land in order to put old buildings back on the market.
