Member municipalities

The Communauté de communes Cœur de France was created in December 1999, on the initiative of Serge VINÇON, Senator and Mayor, in a spirit of regional solidarity.
On 1 January 2013, the Cœur de France and Berry-Charentonnais communities of communes merged.
The new community thus created is called: Communauté de communes Cœur de France.

It is made up of 19 municipalities:

Arpheuilles, Bessais-le-Fromental, Bouzais, Bruère-Allichamps, Charenton-du-Cher, Colombiers, Coust, Drevant, Farges-Allichamps, La Celle, La Groutte, Marçais, Meillant, Nozières, Orcenais, Orval, Saint-Amand-Montrond, Saint-Pierre-les-Étieux and Vernais.

The area covers 37,912 hectares. At 1 January 2024, it had a population of 18,585 (source: Insee).
On 11 July 2020, Daniel BÔNE, Mayor of Colombiers, was elected Chairman.
